Solstad, DeepOcean and Østensjø Launch Remote Ops Venture

Australian Rigs Feared as Terrorist Targets

Australia’s $14.6b North-West Shelf project remains vulnerable to terrorist attack, with "gaping holes" in its security, the Courier Mail reported. The use of small wooden fishing boats laden with explosives as the most likely method of attack. Some of the key issues include security issues include a lack of information sharing and the absence of a co-coordinating body. The value of liquefied natural gas (LNG) produced on the North-West Shelf climbed to more than $2.3b last year. The Australian government committed $107m in last year's Federal Budget to improving security of offshore energy assets.
