DHL Names Hamburg Süd ‘Carrier of the Year’

Logistics enterprise DHL Global Forwarding presented container shipping company Hamburg Süd with the ‘Carrier of the Year 2015’ award, underscoring the working relationship between the two companies   The award was received by Peter Frederiksen, Member of the Executive Board of Hamburg Süd, at the annual DHL Carrier Meeting on December 9 in Bonn, Germany.

Hamburg Süd Receives Panalpina Award

Hamburg Süd has been recognized for the first time with the “Carrier of the Year” Award by the internationally operating transport and logistics group, Panalpina, based in Basle/Switzerland. Peter Frederiksen, Member of the Executive Board of Hamburg Süd, accepted the award at the shipping company’s headquarters in Hamburg in mid-January. The Panalpina Award is the result of the “Panalpina Ocean Freight Carrier Survey 2014”, for which the company asks around 1,700 employees worldwide to evaluate their daily dealings with various shipping lines according to different criteria.

Hamburg Süd Christens San Class Containership

Hamburg Süd yesterday christened another containership in its San class, as the official naming ceremony of the newbuild San Clemente was held at the Marina Bay Cruise Center in Singapore, with customers and business partners. The San Clemente is one of Hamburg Süd’s series of three San class newbuilds constructed at the Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan. Hamburg Süd, Maersk to Discuss Reefer Container Trade

Peter Frederiksen, Member of the Executive Board at Hamburg Süd and Thomas Eskesen, Global Head of Refrigerated Business at Maersk Line will be providing two separate keynote addresses at the fifth Cool Logistics Global, taking place in Rotterdam from September 24-26. Exactly one year after Maersk’s momentous announcement about reefer rate restoration at Cool Logistics Global 2012, Thomas Eskesen will review the results of these measures and provide an outlook about the challenges facing the global reefer sector today. Looking more broadly at the health of container shipping overall, Peter Fredriksen is expected to review the impact of current carrier strategies on shippers of chilled and frozen cargoes.

Experienced shipping and finance professionals in new board for USTC companies. Hamburg Süd Makes Changes to the Executive Board

After 18 years on the Executive Board of Hamburg Süd, Joachim A Konrad, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, is to retire at the end of April, 2012. The Advisory Board of Hamburg Süd has appointed Peter Frederiksen and Frank Smet to succeed him. They will be joining the Executive Board  May 1, 2012. The scale and importance of the duties performed by Joachim A Konrad in past years prompted the Advisory Board to split the scope of responsibilities in the future. Maersk Line Launches Asia-Europe Network

Maersk Line is pleased to announce our improved Asia - Europe network, which we will launch in April 2007. The new Asia - Europe network is a result of the ongoing review of Maersk Line's global network. 15% on the westbound trade we will increase our capacity by 13% during 2007, primarily through deployment of larger tonnage," says Peter Frederiksen, senior vice president in Maersk Line.
