FRS Launches Caribbean Ferry Service

FRS Caribbean has launched its new passenger vessel service from Miami to the Caribbean destination Bimini, Bahamas. The new service, which began September 23, 2016, transports passengers for a two-hour crossing aboard the high-speed catamaran (HSC) San Gwann with daytrip prices starting at around $70. San Gwann, part of the FRS Caribbean Fleet, can host up to 427 passengers with comfortable seats. It is equipped with a bar-counter in both passenger decks, where passengers can enjoy refreshments and snacks during their voyage and a duty free shop to end a getaway with some mementoes and gifts.

Crowley & Seaboard Marine in Vessel Sharing Agreement

Crowley Maritime Corporation’s liner services group and Seaboard Marine Ltd. announced a new vessel sharing agreement (VSA) that will provide customers of both companies with reliable, weekly service on larger ships between South Fla., Costa Rica and Panama. By sharing vessel space, Crowley and Seaboard will increase total capacity in the trade by using two 2,500-TEU-capacity vessels, resulting in a continued high level of service, a more efficient operation and reduced carbon emissions in the trade lane.
