Malin Group Acquires Clyde Corrosion

Clyde Corrosion Control Ltd has become part of the Malin Group, with the formal agreement documenting sale of all shares in the company being signed at the Group’s South Rotunda headquarters on October 7. Clyde Corrosion Control will now form a specialist division under the Group’s Malin Newbuild business unit, who specialize in large scale fabrication projects.Founded in 2002 by Bonnie Lowson and rooted in the Clyde’s industrial legacy, Clyde Corrosion Control has an established customer base in Scotland and beyond, spanning the oil and gas, nuclear, construction and renewables sectors.

Harley Orders Two Newbuild Tank Barges from Vigor

Vigor Fab has been awarded a contract to build two 83,000 bbl. tank barges for Harley Marine Services, Inc. The 422’x 76’ x 27’ tank barges, designed by Elliott Bay Design Group to be part of articulated tug and barge configurations, will be among the largest vessels constructed for Harley Marine’s fleet. Construction will begin this month at Vigor’s 60-acre shipyard in Portland, Ore. With an 800 foot buildway, 600 ton gantry crane, and 360,000 square feet of covered fabrication areas, the yard is well equipped to handle large projects like these.
