Offshore wind installation firm Havfram Wind has ordered a second Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (WTIV).This is the first optional vessel ordered under the existing shipbuilding contract with China's CIMC Raffles.The vessel design will be similar to the first GustoMSC NG20000X Jack-Up vessel currently under construction. Offshore wind installation specialist Cadeler has won a contract to install 60 Siemens Gamesa offshore wind turbines off the coast of Scotland.The contract for the installation of the giant SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbines at the Moray West offshore wind farm comes just after Siemens Gamesa on Thursday announced the firm contract award with Moray West operator for the supply of the 60 turbines.This will be the first time that these 14MW offshore wind turbines will be installed on a commercial scale.The project will be executed by Cadeler’s wind farm installation vessel (WIV), Wind Orca.

TerraSond Expands in Massachusetts to Support Vineyard Wind 1

TerraSond announced plans to invest in a new base in Massachusetts as part of its commitment to support the Vineyard Wind 1 project and wider US offshore wind developments. The company, which already has facilities in Alaska and Texas, has been confirmed as a preferred supplier for the subsea balance of plant inspection and survey services for the Vineyard Wind 1 wind farm, a joint venture between Avangrid Renewables and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. NKT Nets Firm Order for Dogger Bank C Export Cables

Danish offshore cable supplier NKT has secured the high-voltage turnkey order for the Dogger Bank C, the third phase of what will be the world's largest offshore wind farm, in the UK.NKT had previously entered into a Preferred Supplier Agreement (PSA) as the main contractor for delivery and installation of high-voltage DC on- and offshore export cable systems for the Dogger Bank C.Now, the company has secured the contract award with the project owners Equinor (50%) and SSE Renewables (50%). The contract award is subject to Dogger Bank C reaching financial close in late 2021.
