Marine construction specialist company Herbosch-Kiere has chosen Bawat’s Mobile containerized ballast water management system (BWMS) for its reception facility to serve its entire fleet of vessels and barges. Gulf Navigation to Acquire Atlantic Navigation
Dubai-based Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (GulfNav) is in discussions to acquire a majority stake in Singapore-based Atlantic Navigation Holdings, a provider of offshore marine logistic services. Atlantic is an integrated offshore supply operation engaged in the provisioning of marine logistic services, ship repair, fabrication and other marine services. It operates out of the UAE serving primarily customers in the Middle East and India. Atlantic is an offshore marine logistic services group listed on the Singapore Stock with total assets of $177m. Gulf Navigation is in discussion with major oil companies in the Gulf Region to provide key project solution and offshore services.

McDermott bags Middle East pipelay contract
McDermott International, Inc. was awarded an offshore pipelay contract in the Middle East. The pipelay contract includes the engineering, procurement and installation of two oil pipelines offshore. Work on this contract is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter in 2018. “This contract marks another example where our clients in the Middle East recognize our integrated customer-driven solutions that are consistently delivered with outstanding safety and within cost and schedule,” said Linh Austin, McDermott’s Vice President, Middle East and Caspian. Work on the contract is expected to begin immediately and will be reflected in McDermott’s fourth quarter 2016 backlog.
Sea Trucks Wins IMR Work in West Africa
Netherlands-based Sea Trucks Group (STG) said it has secured a contract award from an oil major in West Africa. STG was awarded an inspection, maintenance and repair contract for anoil major in West Africa with commencement during Q4 2016. Graeme Pennycook, Sea Trucks Group’s Managing Director, commented, “We are delighted that, in the present difficult market, Sea Trucks has been awarded this significant contract. Sea Trucks Awarded Contract Offshore Ghana
Sea Trucks Group said it has secured a contract award from Tullow Ghana Limited for the provision of a Construction Support Vessel (CSV) providing Accommodation and Heavy Lift services to the turret moored FPSO Kwame Nkrumahe, located in the Jubilee Unit Area, 60 km offshore Ghana. The scope of work covers accommodation for up to 120 company pax. The scope also includes the heavy lift of two 50 Ton fairlead chain stopper foundation block structures, a 34 Ton mooring pull-in winch and other smaller lifts.
Grand Bahama Shipyard Adds Four Executives
Grand Bahama Shipyard Limited (GBSL), a Caribbean shipyard providing retrofit, refurbishment and revitalization to cruise and commercial vessels, has added four new positions to its executive team in 2016. Taking up the new executive positions are Ian Edward Ross, Don Keirce, Charles Nugent and Adrian Baboi. Ian Edward Ross joined GBSL July 2016 as VP of HSSEQ, bringing with him over 25 years’ practical experience delivering strategic and operational support to major organizations in the oil and gas, power generation and heavy construction and fabrication industries.

Kvaerner in Statoil Unmanned Platform Project
Kvaerner say that Statoil has awarded it a concept study related to a standardised, unmanned dry tree wellhead platform for the Oseberg Future Development project. The concept is focused on minimisation of facilities, equipment and costs down to water depths of 150 meters and may be a cost effective solution compared to a conventional subsea tie-back solution. Kvaerner have already for some time worked on developing a cost efficient, standardised wellhead platform concept called "Subsea on a stick." The new wellhead platforms could both increase recovery and utilise the new generations of jack-up drilling rigs, as well as reducing development costs.
Major US Port Chooses Fieldpoint Service Software
Fieldpoint Service Applications say that one of the largest U.S. Port Authorities had selected Alert Software as their Project Management, Contract and Grant Management solution. As stated in the [not named] Port Authority's 2012 annual report, they had $38.6M worth of completed capital projects and $35.3M in construction-in-progress projects. Project accountability was a key driver for this initiative. With several millions of Federal, State and Tax dollars being awarded, tight cost controls were required from the bid process to project delivery and on-going maintenance support. Alert Software say they will unify the project management processes and aggregate job cost details throughout the project lifecycle.
Cosalt Offshore Acquires Spooling Winch
Cosalt Offshore, which provides lifting, tooling and marine services to the oil & gas industry, has recently ordered a second 50-tonne spooling winch from ACE Winches as part of a major investment in equipment. The second winch, destined for Norway, was ordered following an increasingly high demand for the first, which has been in constant operation in the North Sea since its delivery in February 2011. The winch package is designed to carry 50 tonnes of wire rope or umbilical and complements Cosalt Offshore’s full range of quality lifting products for the energy industry.
