Anglo-Eastern Opts for Inmarsat Fleet Hotspot to Boost Crew Welfare

Ship management services provider Anglo-Eastern Ship Management has selected maritime communications provider Inmarsat to connect its crew.Anglo-Eastern, which uses Inmarsat's Fleet Xpress services, in 2019 became one of the first companies to sign up for Inmarsat’s crew internet solution, Fleet Hotspot, which, Inmarsat says, provides its seafarers "with reliable, high-speed connectivity and the  freedom to use their devices on board." According to Inmarsat, Anglo-Eastern doubled the free internet allowance for its crew in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on crew welfare.

One of the most difficult and time-consuming issues when carrying out inspections or maintenance jobs on vessels is recording information on the job, with crews working on machinery, taking notes and going back to their computers in the office and type in all the information. Anglo-Eastern Deploys Navigator

Hong Kong-based ship management company Anglo-Eastern Group has completed the successful roll-out of Navigator Port to its fleet of more than 600 vessels.DNV GL’s port clearance software is used daily onboard several thousand ships worldwide for management of port documentation, assisting seafarers in navigating the administrative and regulatory complexity of port clearance and passage through controlled waters.“One of the most time-consuming tasks onboard is preparing port documentation,” says Captain Pradeep Chawla, Managing Director, QHSE and Training at Anglo-Eastern. “We have brought in Navigator Port to reduce the administrative burden and ensure quality of the reporting.

Orsted Breaks Ground for Taiwan OWP

Construction of Taiwan's Formosa 2, an offshore wind power (OWP) development project, officially broke ground in Miaoli County.Orsted Taiwan said in a statement that it held a ground-breaking ceremony for the onshore substation works for the 900MW Greater Changhua 1&2a offshore wind farm off Taiwan.Ørsted awarded an onshore substation EPC contract to TCC last November. TCC will build two onshore substations, cable corridors, and transition joint bays for the first 900MW Greater Changhua projects. The contract, with an amount over NTD 7bn, is being now executed by Star Energy Corporation (SEC), a 100% subsidiary of TCC.SEC has hired more than 60 additional employees since last year.

Saipem, a energy and infrastructure solution provider, is implementing DNV GL’s hull planned maintenance system, ShipManager Hull, based on 3D digital twins of crane and pipelaying vessels.DNV GL will supply its advanced software, ShipManager Hull, for implementation on five vessels of the Saipem fleet. Rever Offshore Appoints Ops Director

BigLift Shipping and Chung Yang Shipping from South Korea have reached an agreement for cooperation in heavy transport shipping in LNG, oil and gas markets.A joint press release said that their four heavy transport vessels (HTVs) will be commercially operated by BigLift Shipping.With this combination of two pairs of sisterships – BigLift Barentsz and BigLift Baffin and CY Interocean I and CY Interocean II – the companies are ready to meet the future demands in the LNG, Oil and Gas markets and the renewable market and will adhere to the highest QHSE standards.The vessels are almost similar with respect to deck space, however, the CY vessels’ depth is less, enabling BigLift and Chung Yang to handle an even wider range of port locations in respect of water depth and quay heights.

CMA CGM Enters Sustainability Partnership with Panalpina

Gibdock Secures New ISO Certification

Gibdock has underlined its commitment to Occupational Health & Safety by becoming the first shipyard in the Mediterranean region, and one of the first companies worldwide, to achieve ISO 45001:2018 certification.An audit by LRQA completed on July 6 confirmed that the Gibraltar shipyard is fully compliant with the requirements of the new ISO standard, which was only published in March this year. ISO 45001:2018 replaces the previous standard, OHSAS 18001. Organizations certified to OHSAS 18001 have three years to migrate to the new standard before the old one is withdrawn in March 2021…

Attollo Offshore has heralded Q2 by signing multiple multi-million dollar jack up contracts within the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors.
