CP Propeller Drive Celebrates 100 Years

MAN B&W Diesel has been part of the propeller business from the very beginning. The first Alpha Controllable Pitch Propeller was produced in 1902 and patented in 1903. In the meantime, more than 6500 MAN B&W propellers have gone into service. A great variety of CP Propellers with Propulsion Control Systems for all applications up to to-day’s 30 000 kW range. On 3 December 1903 the CP Propeller patent came into force, and the past CPP-century was celebrated with a propeller conference at MAN B&W Diesel in Denmark exactly on the anniversary day 3 December 2003.
