Sayeed H. Chowdhury, chairman and ceo of HRC Shipping Ltd (HRC Group), the Multiport member in Bangladesh, has been elected chairman of the Bangladesh Oceangoing Ship Owners' Association (BOGSOA). Elected at the association's
annual general meeting at the end of June, Chowdhury will hold the position for a two-year term.
Also a member of the British Institute of Management, Chowdhury founded the HRC Group in 1991. Although initially set up as a ship agency, it is now a diversified conglomerate of sixteen companies including ship agency, chartering, shipowning and distribution. With offices in Dhaka, Chittagong and Khulna, HRC Shipping Ltd is the largest private sector shipowning
company in Bangladesh.
