Castor Maritime announced it has reached deals to sell two bulk carrier vessels to entities owned by a family member of Castor Maritime's chairman, CEO and CFO, Petros Panagiotidis.Under separate agreements signed January 19, 2024, the Cyprus-based company sold the 2010-built Panamax bulk carriers Magic Nova and Magic Horizon for $16.1 million and $15.8 million respectively. At the beginning of June South Shields based Solar Solve Marine dispatched a consignment of 16 SOLASAFE anti-glare roller sunshades to their distributor based in Osaka for installation at the wheelhouse windows of two new bulk carriers being built in Japan. Oshima Shipbuilding Co. are finishing off a Handymax Bulker, Hull No. 10705, at their Nagasaki yard for delivery next month. Currently both the name of the 55,116 dwt vessel and the owner have not been made public but the vessel will be delivered with 13 roller sunscreens from the SOLASOLV range installed at the navigation bridge windows.
