JW Fishers’ ROV’s ‘In Depth’ Solutions

US-based supplier JW Fishers reminds that ROV deployment may prove safer & cheaper than diving. The company quote many examples to back up their statement, including one where the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) use a Fishers SeaLion-2 to help in underwater maintenance of Ice Harbor Lock and Dam in Washington State.The dam is more than 2,800 feet long and 100 feet high and provides hydroelectric generation, recreation, and irrigation for the area’s residents and businesses. One of the tools helping the Corps in its inspection and maintenance operations is Fishers SeaLion ROV.

Sigma Offshore Exhibiting at FPSO Event in Singapore

Sigma Offshore, the international FPSO moorings and marine engineering services business, will be exhibiting at Asia’s 3rd Annual FPSO Summit in Singapore. The event at the Raffles Convention Centre on April 24 and 25 is part of Singapore Maritime Week. Key Addition to Sigma Offshore Staff

Sigma Offshore appoints internal turret moorings expert to bolster growth plans. International FPSO moorings and marine engineering services business, Sigma Offshore, has added new impetus to its growth plans by appointing an experienced industry figure to head up one of its key service areas. Geir Eik has become Vice-President Internal Turret Systems at Aberdeen-headquartered Sigma Offshore as the business looks to sustain and enhance its capabilities across its product and service range.

Sigma Offshore Opens Singapore Office

Sigma Offshore, which has developed a pioneering mooring and fluid transfer system for oil and gas production vessels, has opened a new office in Singapore. Sigma’s Eirik Refstie moved from the company’s Oslo base to head up the new Singapore office ahead of the FPSO Asia Congress in Singapore on September 28-29. He will take on the role of Vice President Asia Pacific. Sigma Offshore developed its Smart Mooring System (SMS) as a cost-efficient and timesaving solution for FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels) and other vessels which require both mooring and fluid loading and unloading in medium to deepwater depths. Sigma Offshore now has offices Singapore, Houston, Oslo and its headquarters in Aberdeen.
