Sima Christens New Crew Tender Vessel

Maaskade Group's Sima Charters has christened its latest newbuild crew tender vessel in the Netherlands.The high-speed aluminum monohull vessel, SC Ruby, was built by Neptune Marine.The 23-meter-long vessel is equipped with triple Volvo Penta IPS 1050 propulsion and features a Seakeeper gyrostabilization system for increased workability.

CTruk OWSV Enhanced with Volvo IPS

Since the launch of its first-of-class CTruk MPC22 late last year, the East Anglia-based workboat designer and builder informs it has incorporated performance feedback into future builds to deliver a range of enhancements. The second CTruk MPC22, due for delivery in June, will feature the Volvo IPS system for increased bollard pull and service speeds, also increasing the fuel efficiency of CTruk’s lighter weight composite catamarans. The 22-meter multipurpose catamaran with 7.5-meter beam and 1.25-meter draft is constructed from advanced composite for weight-saving strength.

CTruk Launches First Volvo Penta IPS Workboat

CTruk, a British boat builder specializing in high-speed composite marine craft, including catamaran workboats and wind farm support vessels, has delivered its first workboat equipped with Volvo Penta IPS (Inboard Propulsion System) to Sima Charters of Holland. With its propulsion technology, including a joystick control for safe and easy docking, Volvo Penta IPS is suited for many marine commercial applications, as demonstrated by the SC Falcon CTruk 20T MPC offshore wind vehicle.

CTruk's Latest OWSV Completes Sea Trials

Experience gained from four years in the offshore wind support vessel market is paying off for CTruk as it prepares to deliver SC Falcon, the company’s latest OWSV and the second CTruk 20T MPC for Sima Charters of Holland. Sea trials for the striking blue and yellow-liveried cat, the first CTruk workboat with Volvo IPS propulsion, have produced some impressive statistics. With a 25 knot cruising speed and top speed of over 30 knots, SC Falcon has satisfied Sima Charters’ Taco Davids that she is more than up to the job.

Seawork 2013 Sets New Standards

Seawork 2013 (UK Port of Southampton June 25-27) attracted record numbers of commercial marine professionals, who were drawn to the exhibition to see new products, new vessels on the pontoons, demonstrations on-the-water, on stands and in the Dive Tank and hear papers from organizations including the Ministry of Defense, the Maritime & Coastguard Agency and the Navitus Bay Wind Park, to be constructed off England’s south coast. Over the three days, 7,327 professionals visited the exhibition, a six per cent increase on 2012. Sima Charters Signs Second CTruk Vessel

Ruud Lievaart, owner of Netherlands-based Sima Charters, has inked the agreement for a second CTruk 20T multi-purpose catamaran during Seawork International in Southampton this week. For CTruk this signing means that every client it works with has taken a second CTruk vessel, the company said. The new 18.5m composite workboat, to be named SC Falcon, is expected to join Sima Charters’ expanding fleet of offshore tender boats in February 2014. CTruck Offshore Wind Farm Support Vessel Delivered

Dutch-owned Sima Charters takes delivery of the latest vessel to join its fleet, a CTruk 20T multi-purpose catamaran, 'SC Buzzard'. Sporting Sima Charters’ eye-catching yellow and blue livery, SC Buzzard is the tenth vessel to be completed at the Brightlingsea yard in two years. SC Buzzard was officially named at an informal gathering in Brightlingsea recently. She features the patent-applied flexible pod system developed by CTruk to enhance versatility as well as a large volume fuel transfer system.
