Naiad Launches Electric-powered Fin Stabilization Systems

Naiad Dynamics, an international manufacturer of ship motion control technologies, has introduced the first products in its new line of electric-powered stabilizer systems designed for use on ships operating both AtSpeed and AtRest. “These new stabilizers are a modern refinement of electric-powered stabilizers Naiad first developed for naval applications in 2008,” said John Venables, CEO of Naiad Dynamics. The initial model E-525 is available with a 7.5 or 11 kW AC servo motor drive…

Seakeeper Launches 5 New Models

Seakeeper proudly introduces five new models, offering stability and roll reduction for vessels 30’ and larger! The product range now includes the Seakeeper 5, 9, 16, 26 and 35 models, with gyros that are smaller and more powerful than ever. After developing the most effective zero-speed anti-rolling devices ever made, Seakeeper forever changed the experience of boating. To date, over 1,700 Seakeeper gyros have been delivered, installed on every major boat brand in the world. All models achieve from 70 to 90% reduction in roll, while requiring only modest electrical power. These versatile gyros have no outside appendages, and can be installed off centerline if needed.

Seakeeper Launches Smaller, More Powerful Gyros

After developing what it calls the most effective zero-speed anti-rolling devices ever made, Seakeeper said it forever changed the experience of boating. Within a decade, the company claimed a position as a global leader in active gyroscopic stabilization technology. Now, it introduces the Seakeeper 5, 9, 16, 26 and 35 models. These gyros are smaller and more powerful than ever. To date, over 1,700 Seakeeper gyros have been delivered, installed on every major boat brand in the world.

Quantum Wins Coast Guard Ship Stability Contract

Quantum Stabilizers wont the contract for the refit and upgrade of the hydraulic stabilizer systems for the USCG’s next four WMEC 270 medium endurance cutters. After development and delivery of the first system that was installed on the USCG’s medium endurance cutter TAMPA, the option for the next four cutters was exercised. The entire contract is for all 13 vessels, the first vessel was the TAMPA and the remaining 12 vessels are split into a four year option. Quantum is also the supplier for the fin stabilizers for the FRC - Sentinel Class (Fast Response Cutters) program under construction…

WESMAR Has New Stabilizer System

In December 2001, WESMAR announced their new roll fin stabilizer systems, the Low Profile RS250 and RS350, which offer the 35-50 ft. boat owner the same smooth ride as larger boat owners have enjoyed for almost two decades. The new, compact system comes with a new CPS 1000 Gyro controller as well: a control station which features updates and inventions. The CPS 1000 Gyro Controller is exclusive to the RS250 and 350 systems and was redesigned from the original console that accompanies the other nine roll fin stabilizer systems which WESMAR manufacturers.

Corsaire 13000 Embodies Integrated, Advanced Propulsion System

The new 440-ft. (134-m) monohull high-speed ferry Corsaire 13000 will soon undergo speed trials at the French shipyard Alstom Leroux Naval, and the successful testing and subsequent operation of the advanced vessel will prove the value of the complete propulsion system supplied by MTU. The ship is planned to operate for the French SNCM (Societe Nationale Maritime Corse-Mediterranee) on the 189-n m. crossing from Marseille and the island Corsica at 42 knots. The ship's propulsion and power generation system — virtually all of which was supplied by MTU — is truly one of the vessel's distinguishing features. The engines, gas turbines, gearboxes…
