Hamburg - GL Garrad Hassan has appointed a new Business Development Manager in the UK, Ian Finch will be responsible for managing sales and business development activities for the GL Group with a special focus on offshore wind. He will work closely with Christoph Thiel, the newly appointed Head of Business Development and Sales for GL Garrad Hassan and Colin Morgan, who leads the Group's Offshore Wind Practice. Finch is an experienced sales and business development manager with over twenty years of working experience.

Ricardo Patiño, a marine engineer surveyor, has joined the Salvage Association, and will now be based at the Panama Canal. Patiño studied at South Shields Marine & Technical College, obtaining a first-class honours degree in mechanical engineering at Sunderland University. After seagoing service with BP, Wallem and Swire Pacific, he worked in his native Panama as a Lloyd’s Register surveyor. More recently he has been surveyor and vice president of an independent survey company. SA surveyors serving the US Gulf region and Latin America are located in Houston, Miami, New Orleans, Panama and Santiago (Chile).
