Royal Doeksen Acquires Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam from Royal IHC

Royal IHC and Royal Doeksen reached an agreement on the acquisition of all shares in Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam, a continuation of IHC's plan hatched in mid-2020 to return its core business and divest itself of pieces that did not fit. Oceanco Acquires Heerema Facility

Dutch superyacht builder Oceanco has acquired the premises of Heerema Zwijndrecht as part of the company's long-term initiative for growth, expansion, and consolidation of its construction activities.These new facilities of Heerema Fabrication Group, which builds massive offshore oil platforms, will be a hub that will allow numerous co-makers to physically set up offices alongside the construction works, encouraging maximum synergy and co-maker alignment among all parties.The site will serve as what the builder calls a “superyacht brain park,” said a press release.The construction and outfitting facilities will be utilised in several different ways.

Baglietto Hull Construction on Schedule

Italian custom superyacht builder Baglietto said that its construction of the hull no. 10225 is right on schedule, according to the program that will be launched next spring.The new 55-meter hull is part of Baglietto’s traditional platform (the T-Line) designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design, said a press release.The vessel’s soft and sleek lines reflect Baglietto’s traditional Italian style, and, together with the lowered gunwales and side air vents, will embody the Seagull brand’s unmistakable aesthetic features. Shipyard Bijela: Concession to Consortium of Damen and Adriatic Marinas

Damen Shipyards Group, Adriatic Marinas and the Montenegrin Government have signed a contract for redevelopment of Bijela shipyard. Damen Lays Keel for 77-meter Expedition Yacht

On July 27 DAMEN SeaXplorer marked a milestone in the construction of the SeaXplorer 77 expedition yacht at a keel laying ceremony at Damen Shipyards Galati on the banks of the Danube. The owner attended the ceremony and welded the traditional coin on the keel. Following the hull building phase, the 77-meter luxury expedition yacht (253 ft) will arrive at Damen’s Vlissingen East yard in the Netherlands for completion and on-schedule delivery in Q4 2020.The SeaXplorer 77 is a customized design from the DAMEN SeaXplorer range.

UK-based BMT Nigel Gee and Dutch- based superyacht builder Oceanco have signed a strategic partnership for the formation of a new naval architecture and engineering company—Lateral Naval Architects Ltd. ABB’s Azipod propulsion will power Oceanco’s visionary superyacht inspired by Polynesian canoes and outfitted with the latest technology. Perfectly suited to the canoe form, ABB’s contra-rotating Azipod technology achieves a 10 percent propulsion efficiency improvement. The ABB technology has become the industry standard in the cruise segment since its launch in 1990. Tuhura made waves on its launch by Dutch superyacht builder Oceanco at last month’s Dubai International Boat Show 2018. Seatorque Boost for Brazil’s Biggest Superyacht

Brazilian superyacht builder MCP Yachts credited Seatorque Control Systems for contributing to the outstanding performance of its latest launch – the Hemisphere 140 Raffaella II. Incorporating Seatorque’s enclosed drive shaft system, the 43m aluminum vessel, powered by twin Caterpillar C32 1825 HP engines, achieved a top cruising speed of 22 knots during sea trials with an 85% load and 167 metric tons displacement, said MCP president Manoel Chaves. The vessel features a pair M3-400 single-piece Seatorque shaft systems, each 22 ft. long, accommodating the vessel’s four-inch diameter shafts.

China, HK, Macao, Dealership Agreed by Italian Yachtbuilder

Italian motorboat builder Apreamare has signed an exclusive dealership agreement for China, Hong Kong and Macao with Xiamen Smart Hero Yacht Co Ltd, one of the Smart Hero (HK) Investment Development Group’s subsidiaries, specialised in sales, management and maintenance of yachts, as well as in yacht club activities. Together with the new dealer, Apreamare will take part for the first time at the next edition of Xiamen boat show (November 2-5, 2012), displaying two models of its range: the Apreamare 64’ Fly and Maestro 56’. “After launching two new models, Smeraldo 45’ and Maestro 56’, at last Autumn’s boat shows, we are now concentrating in the strengthening of our dealer network in significant markets, such as the Chinese one,” says Apreamare president Cataldo Aprea.

Alewijnse signs contract with AMELS

Alewijnse Marine Systems, the leading systems integrator based in Nijmegen in the Netherlands, has signed an agreement with top Dutch superyacht builder AMELS, to undertake the complete electrical outfitting on six new superyachts at AMELS’ yard in Vlissingen. Of the six yachts, one will be the first of the innovative new LIMITED EDITIONS 199 series designed by Tim Heywood with a distinctive scimitar bow, and the remaining five will be the latest in the phenomenally successful LIMITED EDITIONS 177 series.

Cruise ship building will again be a prominent at SMM 2010, the 24th international shipbuilding fair at Hamburg Fair site from 7 to 10 September 2010. The big exhibitors will include the stands of Fincantieri, Meyer Werft and STX Europe. These shipbuilding companies in the cruise vessel segment are coming to the SMM 2010 with well filled order books. SMM 2010, 24th shipbuilding, machinery & marine technology international trade fair hamburg, showcases some 2,000 exhibitors from 60 nations. In this most demanding segment of the shipbuilding industry, the yards had orders for a total of 25 cruise vessels with 2.15 million gt, worth USD 14.8 billion in their books at the beginning of April 2010, according to Seatrade Insider.
