Swire Oilfield Services Plans More SE Asia Investments

Swire Oilfield Services, global supplier of cargo carrying solutions, modular systems, offshore aviation services and fluid management says it plans to further invest in Southeast Asia with the development of three new operational yards and the arrival of new rental equipment to its fleet. The company, which established its first Southeast Asia base in Singapore in 2010 and has since opened further bases across the region, is the largest supplier of DNV certified cargo carrying units in the Southeast Asia market. To better meet increasing customer demand in the region, the company has invested more than $10 million USD by expanding its cargo carrying unit rental fleet and further developing operating bases in Myanmar, Malaysia and Thailand.

Hoover Container Solutions Names Matis Sales Director

Hoover Container Solutions,a subsidiary of Hoover Group, Inc., has named Matt Matis as director of sales for the Gulf of Mexico region. Matis is based in Thibodeaux, La., and will work closely with Hoover’s facilities in Port Fourchon, New Iberia and Scott, La. Matis will lead Hoover’s Louisiana sales efforts with a focus on the offshore industry while managing several major customer accounts. Additionally, he will work closely with the Hoover and Dolphin Energy Equipment teams to develop an integrated product and service offering to better support customers.

Swire Appoints Head of U.K. Operations

Swire Oilfield Services, a global provider of cargo carrying solutions, modular systems, offshore aviation services and fluid management, has appointed Bob Smith as its new head of operations for the U.K. Mr. Smith will oversee all operational activity of the U.K. bases and continue to build on the company’s commitment to process improvement and people development. He will also be responsible for driving growth in the operational function in the U.K., which incorporates the company’s new sling manufacturing and maintenance service.

Swire Announces New Products at OTC 2013

Swire Oilfield Services, LLC, introduced two new products to the Gulf of Mexico region at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), May 6 - 9. Swire’s Modular Systems division and SAFE (Swire Advanced Fluid Engineering) Tanks address the industry’s need for offshore workspace solutions and more advanced offshore fluid storage and transport. Both products will be on display at the conference. The company’s Modular Systems offering is made up of a comprehensive range of both pressurized and non-pressurized modules, which provide reliable and effective workspace and storage solutions.

Swire Oilfield Services Strengthens East African Presence

Swire Oilfield Services, a global supplier of cargo carrying solutions, modular systems, offshore aviation services and fluid management, is strengthening its newly established presence in Kenya, East Africa with the appointment of Dan Davies as the new commercial manager. Dan will be responsible for the commercial activity across East Africa and further developing business in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar and the wider East African region. The opening of an office in Kenya and the appointment of Dan comes as part of an overall growth strategy for Swire Oilfield Services in East Africa.

Swire Oilfield Services Opens New Headquarters

Swire Oilfield Services, a global supplier of cargo carrying solutions, modular systems, offshore aviation services and fluid management, has officially opened its new £4 million global headquarters in Aberdeen. The new headquarters are part of an overall investment in the business of £50 million this year to support the company’s international business development strategy. Swire Oilfield Services Expands in North America

Swire Oilfield Services (Swire), has reinforced its commitment to growth with a significant investment in its North American operations, as part of the company’s global  $150 million investment this year. The company entered the Gulf of Mexico in 2007 with the establishment of an operations headquarters in Houma, Louisiana. Since then it has expanded with nine new facilities across the Gulf coast and North America, including Port Fourchon, Morgan City and Lafayette in Louisiana; Galveston, Three Rivers, Carrizo Springs and Midland/Odessa in Texas; Kenai, Alaska; Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago and a new corporate office in The Woodlands, Texas.

In his new role, Mr. King will ensure that the operational capability is fully developed, supported and resourced to provide the highest levels of service to all Swire’s customers served from the UK bases. Mr. King has a vast background in operations, starting 22 years ago when working as an aircraft engineer in the Royal Air Force.

Swire Oilfield Services invests in North Sea

Swire Oilfield Services, a leading supplier of specialist offshore cargo carrying units (CCU), is defying market conditions by establishing Aberdeen, UK as a Centre of Excellence for its Cargo Carrying business with a $1.2m investment, creating five jobs. Work has already begun on the new paint curing facility at the company’s fleet refurbishment workshop in Aberdeen. The three acre site is scheduled for completion on the 1st of December and once fully operational, personnel including shot blasters and painters will be hired to service the new hub.

Swire Oilfield Services Acquires Weir

Supplier of specialist offshore cargo carrying units, Swire Oilfield Services, has announced the acquisition of the assets and operating business of Australia based Weir OCI, creating the largest regional supplier of offshore cargo carrying units (CCU) in the Australian and Asian region. Weir OCI is the company’s second Australian acquisition in the past year, and takes investment in the region to more than $25m. In August 2008 Swire Oilfield Services acquired Perth based Maritime Products & Services. The three companies together will now trade as Swire Oilfield Services Pty Ltd.
