Giant Harbor Crane Delivered in Port Bronka

Multipurpose Sea Cargo Complex Bronka took delivery of a LHM 800 mobile harbor crane from Liebherr Maritime Cranes on September 26, marking delivery of the first LHM 800 in heavy lift configuration. Located at the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland, Port Bronka is about to become an important multipurpose terminal on the Baltic Sea, according to Liebherr. In order to handle growing vessel sizes and heavy industrial goods right from the beginning, Port Bronka ordered the giant model of Liebherr’s mobile harbor crane product range: the LHM 800.

Katoen Natie N.V. has increased its lifting capacity at the port of Antwerp, investing in three new Liebherr mobile harbor cranes, one LHM 550 and two LHM 600s. Niedersachsen Ports on Course of Expansion

With two state-of-the-art Liebherr Mobile Harbor Cranes, Niedersachsen Ports works the switches for more turnover in their seaports Brake and Emden. Within a short time frame, Niedersachsen Ports GmbH & Co. KG (NPorts) in Northern Germany ordered two Liebherr Mobile Harbor Cranes (LHM). In Brake, NPorts has already operated a LHM 500 for years, the company said, so it decided to equip the Niedersachsenkai with the popular successor model, type LHM 550. The LHM 550 provides a maximum lifting capacity of 144 tons and an outreach of up to 54 meters. At maximum outreach the capacity is 40.9 tons.

Massive 1,600-ton Heavy Lift Offshore Crane Delivered

In September Liebherr delivered the second heavy lift offshore crane type MTC 78000 from its manufacturing plant in Rostock. The MTC 78000 is one of the biggest offshore slewing cranes worldwide, with a maximum dynamic torque of 78,000 mt. Four units of the new heavy lift crane have been ordered to date. Despite its size, the MTC 78000 has been designed as a slewing crane and is supported by traditional large diameter antifriction bearings. With a weight of  70 tons, the swing ring has a diameter of approximately 9 m.
