Astilleros Balenciaga Delivers New SOV for Edda Wind

Norway-based Edda Wind on Tuesday announced it has taken delivery of a newly built service operation vessel (SOV) from Spanish shipbuilder Astilleros Balenciaga.The vessel, C416—to be renamed Edda Goelo at a later stage—was delivered on March 26. It will be the permanent vessel in the contract with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy at the Saint-Brieuc wind farm in France, running until Q2 2028. C416 is of Salt 0358 design and the sister vessel of Edda Brint, delivered from Astilleros Balenciaga in October 2022.

Danish offshore wind installation services company Cadeler said Monday it had entered into an unsecured green loan facility with HSBC. Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a contract with Rotterdam Short Sea Terminals (RST) to supply two Kalmar rail-mounted gantry (RMG) cranes with remote control and extensive customisation. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 second quarter order intake. The first crane will be delivered in Q4 of 2019 and the second during Q1 of 2020. Newark Container Terminal Handles Record Volumes

Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT) handled a record number of container volumes without disruption to its customers following its January 2017 upgrade to the N4 terminal system. The move to Navis N4 is part of PNCT’s $500 million infrastructure modernization project that is expected to nearly double the terminal’s capacity by 2019. Shipping group CMA CGM has announced the new service offer TURAF EXPRESS which directly links Turkey, Tunisia and Libya via Malta. Marlink Secures Global Intelsat EpicNG Maritime Coverage

Marlink is a long-standing Intelsat S.A. customer, with services on multiple Intelsat satellites and the IntelsatOne terrestrial network, has signed an agreement for high-throughput connectivity from Intelsat’s Horizons 3e satellite. Horizons 3e, a joint venture satellite owned by Intelsat and SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation, will be stationed at 169o East to deliver connectivity in the Asia-Pacific region. The satellite is scheduled for launch in the second half of 2018, and when combined with the already contracted high-throughput broadband services provided by Intelsat 29e, Intelsat 33e and Intelsat 35e, Marlink will offer Intelsat EpicNG performance to its maritime customers traversing the world’s busiest shipping routes.

With the latest release of Sesam HydroD software for floating structures, DNV GL is now offering a completely new and pioneering stability analysis solution that allows for hydrodynamic and stability analysis on one common model, giving naval and offshore engineers unprecedented control over their projects. The design and engineering of floating structures relies heavily on both hydrodynamic and stability analyses, which are necessary in order to optimize safety in various environmental conditions. These two types of analyses have usually been performed with separate models and software system. This common way of working actually causes inefficiencies and raises the cost of the design process, possibly leading to errors or inaccuracies during the analyses.

GTT, AG&P to Tap Smaller Scale Modular LNG Market

GTT, (Gaztransport & Technigaz), an engineering company specialized in the design of membrane containment systems for the transportation and storage of liquefied gases, has signed a Technical Assistance and License Agreement (TALA) with AG&P (Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific Company), a provider of modular industrial delivery solutions, for the construction of membrane systems for onshore tanks, LNG bunkering infrastructure, LNG carriers and other LNG-related GTT systems. The two companies signed this milestone agreement during the 18th International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG 18) in Perth, Australia which will make AG&P only the third company in the world to be certified as licensed outfitter (installer subcontractor) to utilize GTT's technologies.

Trelleborg Provides Floatover Tech to Project in West Africa

Trelleborg’s engineered products operation has completed its supply of floatover equipment for Phase 3 of the DSO Escravos Gas Project; the operation’s first floatover in West Africa.
