McDermott Engineers Created the World’s Largest Specialty Valves

New Versatile McDermott CSV Christened

McDermott International, Inc. informs of the christening of its new Construction Support Vessel 108 (“CSV 108”) at Metalships & Docks shipyard in Vigo, Spain. The shipyard hosted a naming ceremony attended by Tony Duncan, Executive Vice President, Subsea for McDermott and Manuel Rodríguez, Chairman of Metalships & Docks, SAU, local dignitaries and project staff. “We expect the CSV108 to join the fleet in 2015, once the final deck equipment has been installed,” said Duncan. CSV108 will immediately transit to Norway for the installation of two portside active heave compensated cranes for the final stage in its construction. McDermott is a leading provider of integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) services for upstream field developments worldwide.

McDermott Signs Agreement for Gulfport Spoolbase

McDermott International, Inc. (NYSE: MDR) said that one of its subsidiaries has signed a lease agreement with the Mississippi Development Authority and the Mississippi State Port Authority for the exclusive right to operate a spoolbase and marine operations base in the Port of Gulfport. McDermott expects the facility, designed to serve projects from the Gulf of Mexico, will be available in early 2016. The new facility in Gulfport, located on the Mississippi coastline, will be used to fabricate steel pipe stalklines through advanced welding processes for use in offshore Reeled pipelay operations. McDermott Signs Agreement for North Sea Spoolbase

McDermott International, Inc. announced that one of its subsidiaries has signed an option agreement with PD Ports which gives it the exclusive right to operate a spoolbase to serve projects in the North Sea. McDermott expects to have the facility available for projects in early 2015. Located in Hartlepool, in northeast United Kingdom, the spoolbase is expected to support McDermott’s reentry into the North Sea Reel-Lay market. The Port of Hartlepool is a well-established working port with a history of fabrication for the oil and gas industry and has excellent access from harbor to the open sea.

McDermott Wins Subsea Contract for Petrobras

McDermott International, Inc. (NYSE:MDR) announced that one of its subsidiaries has entered into an agreement with Petrobras for a short term charter to supply its subsea construction vessel North Ocean 102 (“NO102”). The NO102 will carry out deepwater umbilical and flexible pipe installation offshore Brazil and is expected to begin work during the third quarter of 2014. McDermott Acquires DeepSea

McDermott International, Inc. announced that certain of its subsidiaries have entered into an agreement in which McDermott has acquired all of the outstanding shares of the DeepSea operating companies. Terms of the purchase are not being disclosed. Headquartered in London, England, with engineering offices in Houston, Europe and Asia Pacific, DeepSea’s specialty services encompass subsea engineering and project management and extend from the wellhead to fixed, floating or shore-based production facilities for oil and gas operators worldwide.
