Unique Group Acquires APAC Marine Unit

Integrated marine and subsea solutions provider Unique Group has announced the acquisition of the Australian-company Western Advance’s Marine Division.The provider of services and solutions for the offshore, subsea and life support industries also announced the appointment of Chris Forde as its new regional vice-president.Western Advance’s integration with Unique Group ties in with the Group’s strategy to enhance its portfolio of autonomous solutions for marine, offshore and subsea industry operations in the region.Harry Gandhi, chief executive officer at Unique Group, said: “Over the years, Unique Group has built a strong presence in APAC offering survey equipment, buoyancy and ballast, diving and life support and on-site engineering products and services to our customers.

Unique Group Wins COOEC Contract

Unique Group has been awarded a multi-million-dollar contract by China Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd (COOEC).The contract was signed at the 2nd CNOOC Global Procurement signing ceremony held on November 7th, as a part of CIIE 2019 in Shanghai, China.Under this contract, Unique Group will design, manufacture and deliver a classed saturation diving system to be integrated on COOEC’s vessel, including technical support during and post installation. All equipment will comply with DNV and International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) guidelines.

Unique Group to Provide Survey Vessel Package to Major Government Entity

Subsea and offshore solution provider Unique Group announced that its Marine & Subsea division has entered into a high value contract with the Southern African Shipyards to provide a turnkey package for hydrographic survey vessels and hydrographic office set up.The project will include multiple new build vessels - main vessel and support vessels. Purpose-built Daughter Craft Delivered to Aberdeen

Unique Group, an integrated turnkey subsea and offshore solution provider, has now delivered two new dive systems and a diving vessel worth around £5 million to global services provider, Vertech. The Hydracraft 1500 Daughter Craft vessel, named the Vaila, is nearly 50 feet long and designed for air diving activity. The hull is designed to provide an enhanced stability, optimizing operational efficiency. Unique Group’s UK Managing Director, Ray Hughes, handed the vessel over to Vertech’s UK Managing Director, John Marsden, and Vertech’s Diving Manager, Alan Melia in Aberdeen last week.

Static load testing is an essential part of many engineering, building and manufacturing businesses – and the shipping, marine and offshore industry is no exception. Water filled weights (also known as ballast bags) provide a flexible method for load testing. Test weights must be sufficiently heavy to ascertain the maximum load of an object, but they should also be reusable and safe to deploy in a test environment. Unique Maritime Group, an integrated turnkey subsea and offshore solutions provider, announced a joint venture agreement with OEG Offshore (OEG), to offer the rental and sale of offshore equipment in the Middle East region. The new joint venture company, OEG Unique, which will be based in UAE & QATAR, will provide local access to OEG’s full range of over 200 individual certified designs of DNV 2.7-1 certified Cargo Carrying Units (CCUs) and A60 modules across the GCC countries.

Middle East Offshore Equipment Supply: New J/V Set Up

Leading integrated turnkey subsea and offshore solutions provider, Unique Maritime Group, says it has signed a Joint Venture (J/V) with OEG Offshore (OEG), to offer rental and sale of offshore equipment in the Middle East region. The new joint venture company, OEG Unique, which will be based in UAE & QATAR, will provide local access to OEG’s full range of over 200 individual certified designs of DNV 2.7-1 certified Cargo Carrying Units (CCUs) and A60 modules across the GCC countries. Unique Hydrographic Systems has been contracted by Cairn India for an Oil Spill Recovery project. The first of its kind project for Unique Hydrographic Systems will run over a period of three years until April 2016. The crux of this Tier 1 project includes the supply of oil spill recovery equipment from Lamor along with vehicles and a trained team of responders and supervisors for approximately 700 kilometers of hot crude oil pipeline from Barmer to Jamnagar.
