Man Medevaced from Vessel off NJ Coast

A Coast Guard boat crew medevaced a man off Cape May, Tuesday. Command center watchstanders from the 5th Coast Guard District received notification at 1:42 p.m. Monday that a 46-year-old crew member of the 600-foot French-flagged motor vessel Tamarin, had suffered a possible stroke. Due to inclement weather, the rescue was postponed until the morning. A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May launched Tuesday at 10 a.m. and arrived on scene at 10:46 a.m. The man was transported to Cape May where EMS personnel were waiting. The man was then transported in stable condition to Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Court House by EMS personnel for further medical attention.
