Reid Gantry to Install Floating Solar System

Northern Pontoon used a 3,000 kg working load limit (WLL) lightweight gantry crane from Reid Lifting to anchor a solar system on the Langthwaite Reservoir in Lancashire, UK recently.The floating array features approximately 3,700 pontoon modules and 3,520 solar panels. The 7,200 sq. m. system will provide a MW of power, equivalent to the needs of 200 homes. FSU Delivered to Bahrain LNG

Teekay LNG’s first Floating Storage Unit (FSU) has been successfully delivered to charterer Bahrain LNG. The vessel delivered from the yard at the end of August, before going on hire on 19 September, 2018. The vessel will be used to support Bahrain LNG in providing an LNG receiving and regasification terminal in Bahrain. The project is 30% owned by Teekay LNG Partners (TGP) and is expected to commence commercial operation in early 2019.The vessel will be used to support Bahrain LNG in providing an LNG receiving and regasification terminal in Bahrain. Bahrain LNG WLL is jointly owned by the Oil and Gas Holding Company (nogaholding) and a consortium consisting of Teekay LNG Partners L.P. Aldubaikhi Named Bahri’s Next CEO

Saudi Arabian maritime transport and logistics company Bahri has appointed Abdullah Aldubaikhi as its new chief executive office. Aldubaikhi’s appointment, which takes effect January 1, 2018, comes as the company gears for a new phase of expansion following several months of growth, according to Bahri chairman, Abdulrahman M. Al-Mofadhi. Aldubaikhi joins Bahri from Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC), where he served as CEO for six years. He previously held senior management roles at several firms, including Afwaf Investment, Awalnet and DowLog Technology Company.

Teekay Awards Contracts for LNG Imports Complex

A consortium composed of Teekay LNG Partners L.P., Samsung C&T (Samsung) and Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC) executed today with the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain the project agreements for the development of an LNG receiving and regasification terminal in Bahrain. The project, to be developed on a BOOT (build, own, operate, transfer) basis, will be located in Hidd Industrial area of Bahrain and will help the Kingdom meet the increasing demand for gas supplies to satisfy its industrial and urban development. The Oil and Gas Holding Company (Nogaholding) awarded the project to Teekay LNG-Samsung-GIC consortium following an international competitive tendering process.

Habtoor Leighton Awarded Doha Pipeline Project

for KAHRAMAA – Qatar’s General Electricity and Water Corporation. HLG, operating as Leighton Contracting (Qatar) WLL, is responsible for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 120km of 1600mm diameter ductile iron pipes and fittings. Works also include trench excavation, backfilling and construction of all valve chambers. This contract brings the total value of new project awards to HLG during 2014 to AED7.4 billion (US$2 billion) – close to doubling HLG’s December 2013 work in hand to AED16.5 billion (US$4.48 billion). The pipelines project is the fifth project awarded to HLG by KAHRAMAA. KAHRAMAA was for the construction of the Duhail and Umm Qarn Reservoirs in 2009.

Strategic Marine Delivers Landing Craft

Strategic Marine Australia has successfully delivered three 42.3 ft landing craft to Kuwaiti sales agent Seas and Deserts. The aluminium vessels designed by Strategic Marine and Southerly Designs, have a 42.3 ft length overall, a beam of 13 ft a draught of 1.5 ft. Powered by two 300 horsepower V8, Yamaha outboard motors, these engines pack a punch reaching speeds of over 40 knots at lightship. With a cruising speed of 28 knots the vessels are expected to have the capacity to operate for up to 14 hours, a range of approximately 380 nautical miles fully loaded. The landing craft are designed to carry a High Mobility Multi Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (a.k.a Humvee), or is capable of a 5 tonne payload. The Vessels will operate in the Arabian Gulf region.

MOL, Gulf LPG Transport Start VLGC Pool

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) announced on Jan. 27, the formation of a very large gas carrier (VLGC) pool called LPG Global Transport, along with Gulf LPG Transport Company W.L.L. of Qatar (Gulf LPG). The pool will begin operations immediately. Gulf LPG Transport Company W.L.L. is a limited liability joint venture company established by Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat) and Qatar Shipping Company. MOL and Gulf LPG have jointly incorporated LPG Global Transport Management Inc. to manage the pool’s business operations.

At 25.3-meters, the solidly built boat assures comfort even in a heavy sea. With a 6.1-meter beam and a 2.8-meter depth, the vessel’s hull has a spacious engine room and ample soundproofing to assure a quiet ride. The vessel is equipped with two control stations. Designed and built by the Grandweld Shipyard in , UAE the vessel was delivered to her owners Nakilat Svitzerwijsmuller WLL in late January 2008. She is operated by a crew of three and has tankage for 2906 gallons of fuel, 578 gallons of water and 57 USG of lube oil.
