Cosco Names New CEO for OOIL

Cosco-owned  Hong Kong containerline  Orient Overseas (International) Limited (OOIL)  said its chief executive Huang Xiaowen has resigned and Wang Haimin will succeed him.Executive director Zhang Wei has also resigned. Cosco Shipping Buys 60% Stake Peru's Chancay Terminal

Global ports operator Cosco Shipping Ports acquiring 60% stake in Terminales Portuarios Chancay (Chancay Terminal) from Volcan Compañía Minera for a total consideration of US$225million.Zhang Wei, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Cosco Shipping Ports and  José Picasso, Chairman of Volcan signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties.The ceremony was witnessed by Mercedes Aráoz, Vice President of Peru,  Xiao Yaqing, Chairman of State-owned Asset Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, PRC, among others.Cosco Shipping Ports will partner with Volcan to build Chancay Terminal into an important gateway port in Peru.

Cosco-PSA Terminal JV Adds Two New Berths in Singapore

China's Cosco Shipping Ports and PSA Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the addition of two new berths at the Cosco-PSA Terminal in Singapore.With the launch of the two new berths, CPT will be equipped with five mega-vessel berths, increasing its annual handling capacity from 3 million TEUs of the current three berths to about 5 million TEUs.The new berths will strengthen CSP’s presence in Singapore and support the needs of Cosco Shipping group with the advent of mega-vessels and megaalliances in the shipping industry. Cosco Shipping Ports  has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with CMA Terminals Holding in Shanghai. The two parties have agreed to seek cooperation in ports worldwide and preference will be given to ports that the Ocean Alliance calls. Cosco Pacific Appoints Zhang Wei as Vice Chairman

Cosco Pacific Ltd. has appointed Zhang Wei as vice chairman and managing director, replacing Qiu Jinguang who has stepped down from the positions with immediate effect, reports Dow Jones. "Qiu Jinguang has resigned as an Executive Director, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director and also resigned as an authorised representative as well as the Chairman of the Executive Committee, the Investment and Strategic Planning Committee and the Risk Management Committee, and a member of the Nomination Committee and the Remuneration Committee due to work commitments, with effect from today (April 27)," says a statement from the company. Zhang, who is 42 years old and joined the Cosco Group in 1995, is currently holding directorships at certain units of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Co.

ZPMC Orders Romica Equipment for DSV

Romica Engineering Ltd (REL) has signed a contract with Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (ZPMC) to provide a triple drum winch and tooling deployment A-Frame system.
