Med Marine Holds Keel Laying Ceremony for Svitzer Newbuilds

Turkish shipbuilder Med Marine on Thursday held a keel-laying ceremony at Ereğli Shipyard for two new icebreaking tugs being constructed for Svitzer.  

Kim Caspersen, Svitzer's New Building Site Manager, said the vessels will operate within the company's Scandinavia fleet to serve northern European costumers predominantly in Denmark and Sweden.

Engineered for operations in extreme winter conditions, the 30-meter tugs are TundRA 3000 designed by Canada's Robert Allan Ltd.
