TSAC Plans Fall Meeting

The Towing Safety Advisory Committee (TSAC) has scheduled its fall meeting for September 12- 13 at Coast Guard headquarters in Washington, DC. TSAC's working groups will meet on Thursday, September 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to discuss working group progress on ongoing TSAC projects. The formal meeting will take place on Friday, September 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Agenda highlights include:

A report from the Crew Alertness Working Group on alertness risk factors, best practices and a plan for publicizing this information to the towing industry; Status report from the Towing Vessel Regulatory Review Working Group; A review of feedback received on the draft performance assessment criteria developed by the Licensing Implementation Working Group accompany the Towing Officer Assessment Records (TOARs); and, A status report on the Maritime Security Working Group, a presentation on the Inland River Security Partnership, and a presentation on the Port Security Assessment Program.
