CMA CGM Modifies its Midas and Swahili Services

 CMA CGM has announced the strengthening of its current MIDAS service by cooperating with PIL under a new Vessel Sharing Agreement. A fleet of 11 vessels of 3,500 TEU nominal capacity will be deployed, and CMA CGM will contribute to the majority with 9 vessels.

It also announced the strengthening of its coverage of India on its SWAHILI EXPRESS service deployed on the India Middle East Gulf - Eastern Africa and Indian Ocean route.
Furthermore, CMA CGM announced the significant product improvement of its MIDAS service deployed on the India Middle East Gulf - West Africa route as from March 2nd, 2016:
In India, MIDAS will extend its coverage with a weekly call at Nhava Sheva direct to West Africa, South Africa and Reunion Island in addition to the present Mundra call. Luanda is reached from India in 22 days, Pointe Noire in 25 days, Apapa in 30 days and Cotonou in 31 days.
In West Africa, Apapa is added in the port rotation in complement of Tin Can Lagos direct call and Onne in relay. Cotonou hub just after Apapa will permit a shortened transit time by 3 days to Douala, Cameroon and to Gabonese ports.
MIDAS port coverage is as follows: Khor Fakkan - Jebel Ali - Nhava Sheva - Mundra - Pointe des Galets - Durban - Walvis Bay - Luanda - Pointe Noire - Tin Can - Apapa - Cotonou - Tema - Lome - Cape Town - Coega - Durban - Pointe des Galets - Khor Fakkan
SWAHILI EXPRESS, operated with 6 vessels up to 2,800 TEU nominal capacity, will have a significant improvement with the addition of a weekly direct call at Mundra in addition to the present call at Nhava Sheva as from March 4th, 2016.
Gain in transit time is 7 days, Longoni is reached in 11 days from Mundra, Dar Es Salaam in 14 days, Zanzibar in 18 days and Nacala in 25 days.
SWAHILI EXPRESS port coverage is as follows : Nhava Sheva - Mundra - Khor Fakkan - Jebel Ali - Longoni - Dar Es Salaam - Zanzibar - Nacala - Port Victoria - Nhava Sheva
