Oceans 2013 MTS/IEEE Update

Registration is now open of MTS/IEEE’s big Oceans 2013 show, which comes to San Diego September 23-26, 2013 with the theme, “An Ocean in Common.”

There will be more tham 450 papers, presentations and posters, plus exhibitions by industry, academia, nonprofits and government agencies. The Marine Technology Society will use the occasion to celebrate its 50th Anniversary. Numerous special events complement the rich technical and scientific presentations.

The Tuesday through Thursday Technical Program will feature 23 Special Sessions, including Ships-to-Reefs, Ultra-deep Exploration, International Business, San Diego Maritime History and Technology Transfer.

More than 200 exhibit booths fill the two Exhibit Halls. Admission is free to the exhibits, just register to get a complimentary badge.

The Plenary session islikewise free to attend. UCSD Chancellor Dr. PradeepKhosla will join Oceans Advocate Dr. Sylvia Earle, and Dr. Greg Kusinski, DeepStar Director, Chevron Energy Technology Companywill give their separate perspectives on ocean initiatives.

Military personnel in uniform who register for the free exhibits will also be given admittance to all technical programs.

Monday’s Tutorials are available to the general public at a nominal cost, but without having to register for the full conference. Check out the thirteen compelling course descriptions, which include IEEE CEU credits.
