NASSCO Gets $578M Option T-AKE’s

National Steel and Shipbuilding Co. San Diego, Calif., is being
awarded a $578,206,817 fixed-price-incentive modification under previously awarded contract (N00024-02-C-2300) to exercise options for design and construction of the fifth and sixth ships in the Dry Cargo/Ammunition Ship (T-AKE) Class. This modification will provide for full funding of the detailed design and construction of the fifth and sixth ships of the T-AKE 1 Class. Work will be performed in San
Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by July 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, D.C. is the contracting activity.
