VEKA Group has signed contracts with Van der Velden Marine Systems for 15 complete maneuvering systems consisting of an integrated alarm and control steering panel, hydraulics, steering gear and high lift rudders.
The installations are required for newly designed inland tankers from the “RPG” series as ordered by the Belgium based Plouvier Transport N.V. and her daughter company Intership AG. The new fleet additions will be chartered by Shell Trading Rotterdam. All vessels will operate primarily on liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The ships' hulls are under construction at the VEKA Shipyard CENTROMOST in Poland, but the outfitting will be carried out at VEKA Shipyard Werkendam, The Netherlands. The first three vessels will be delivered to Plouvier before the end of the year.
