NYK Line to Join GT Nexus
March 18, 2002
NYK Line announced that it has signed an agreement to join the GT Nexus Network.
GT Nexus provides the Internet-based technology behind the GT Nexus Network, an industry web portal that allows global businesses to perform freight shipping transactions with multiple ocean carriers on a single platform. The GT Nexus Network now includes three Japanese maritime shipping companies. NYK Line joins MOL (Mitsui-OSK Lines) and "K" Line as network participants. The three carriers provide the majority of containerized ocean shipping capacity serving Japan and are among the largest Asian-Pacific carriers.
GT Nexus and NYK Line have been working for the past several months on integration and connectivity activities in support of common customers. NYK Line is expected to begin supporting transactions over the GT Nexus Network within the next 30 days.
