September 30, 2002

SonTek/YSI, Inc. has sold a 250 kHz Long Range SL-ADP system to the National Ocean Service. The instrument will be used to measure horizontal current profiles in support of the P.O.R.T.S. system near Anchorage Alaska. This brings the total number of SL-ADP systems in NOS to 6 with several of them in operation in both Alaska and the Delaware Bay. SonTek’s Chris Ward stated: “We have been supplying up-looking current profiling systems to NOAA for over 7 years, and we are happy to see that their PORTS systems are now taking advantage of our long experience in side-looking systems as well”
