Manufacturer to Service Deck Fitting Product Line.

Patterson Manufacturing, the marine equipment manufacturer based in Pittsburgh, today announced that it has acquired Blackburn Marine, a deck fitting manufacturer based in Canyon Lake, Texas. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. "We're pleased to be able to service Blackburn's excellent product lines," said David Grapes, CEO of Patterson. "Blackburn has been producing high-quality deck equipment for years, and their products are a fitting complement to our own. We intend to serve former Blackburn customers with the same dedication they've become used to."

Patterson Manufacturing has been manufacturing winches, ratchet turnbuckles, tensors, and other marine equipment for more than 150 years. The company's signature product, the YoYo Winch, boasts a unique single-stacking design that eliminates springcoil, fouling, and uncontrolled spooling and is up to 50% faster than ratchets. The YoYo has proven so popular that the company is expanding the product line, and introducing the 40’ YoYo winch at the International Workboat Show 2011 in New Orleans. Blackburn Marine has been in business since 1968. Specializing in low-profile winches and rolling chocks, the company prides itself on producing American-made goods. The Blackburn W-100 Winch, a ratchet-system replacement, is a swiveling winch that streamlines barge makeup.
