Philippine Coast Guard Recover Cadaver of Overboard Crewman

The personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Olutanga have retrieved the cadaver of a crewman who fell overboard from MV Evert Sweet last Saturday, January 11.

According to Bryan Acedes, crew of MV Ever Sweet, their escort Roberto G. Morano Cafgu fell overboard while standing at the port beam of the vessel which was docked at the Port of Olutanga in Zamboanga, Sibugay.

Immediately, the personnel of said substation, together with the crew of said vessel, conducted search and rescue operation but yielded negative result due to unfavorable weather condition.

The next day, the personnel of CGSS Olutanga, together with the Master of MV Ever Sweet, two civilian divers namely Saudi Yusop and Jay Lamilanaw, continued searching for Cafgu and at 6:30 a.m., his cadaver was recovered approximately 20 meters away from the said vessel.

MV Ever Sweet is a passenger/cargo vessel with 98.35 GT/60.38 NT is skippered by Captain Ricardo B Ito and owned/ operated by Ever Lines Shipping Company Incorporated.
