Update: Philippines Grounding Incidents

The Philippines Couast Guard issued an update on three recent grounding incidents near Central Visayas.

The MV Subic Bay 1, which ran aground at Bantolinao Point, Cebu, arrived safely at Gothong Wharf, Cebu at 11:30 p.m. yesterday, November 16.

Another vessel that also grounded at Bantolinao Point, The MV Joyful Star, is awaiting towing Coast Guard Station (CGS) Cebu is coordinating with the shipping company. All passengers from the vessel were safely transported to Porter Yacht Club in Liloan, Cebu, in good condition and assisted by a Jasper Roble, a representative of Roble Shipping Incorporated.

A third vessel, Our Lady of All Nation, ran aground at Danajon Bank, Bohol. Search and rescue operations are still ongoing with personnel of to Coast Guard vessel BRP EDSA II (SARV-002). Twenty-nine passengers were already transferred to BRP EDSA II as of 3:30 p.m.

The Coast Guard said sea conditions are rough with zero visibility.
