GEDA USA improves offshore crew safety with first-of-kind helicopter deck vertical access system

GEDA, specializing in vertical transportation solutions, announces it has engineered the 1500 ZZP, the offshore industry's first helideck transport platform. Specifically designed for the shipping industry and offshore platform installations, GEDA’s proprietary technology is revolutionizing vertical transport for heliports around the world.

GEDA's 1500 ZZP is the first platform of its kind in vertical transport for the offshore industry. “Previously, helidecks and heliports were accessible only by ladder, due to the dangerous possibility of helicopter blades coming into contact with tower components,” says GEDA USA Vice President, Herbert Calles. “Our industry-leading engineers have designed the 1500 ZZP in lieu of an elevator—to provide simple, secure access for offshore personnel and cargo.”

This one-of-a-kind transport platform can also be used to safely and quickly return injured personnel to ground level. GEDA Helideck Transport Platforms measure 10’10” by 4’9”, making the cage roomy enough to accommodate a gurney or full-sized stretcher, if required.

Other 1500 ZZP features include a special, anti-corrosive paint finish to withstand offshore elements, and NEMA 4x stainless steel electrical enclosures. GEDA USA’s 1500 ZZP can achieve lifting heights of up to 330 feet, and allows a load capacity of up to 2200 pounds.
