Veripos Extends NW European Positioning Service

March 1, 2012

Veripos has extended the North West European sector of its global multi-source network with the establishment of new reference station facilities at Hammerfest in northern Norway. The new station, part of Veripos’s worldwide network of over 80 similar reference facilities in support of dual-beam positional coverage via seven L-band satellites, has been introduced to meet growing exploration activities in both the Norwegian and Russian zones of the Barents Sea.  Providing improved coverage of the overall area, it also ensures added redundancy for other Norwegian reference stations at Bodo, Kristiansund and Tananger.
Commenting on the latest extension to its global network, Phil Henderson, Veripos Service Delivery Group Manager, said that it marked a further stage in the continuing development of the company’s worldwide positioning capability, in response to increasing demand for its services from leading seismic exploration, as well as survey and construction support operators.
