Capt Sofrin Presents “Voyage of the Damned”

On Tuesday March 24, at 6:00pm, Confident Captain/Ocean Pros will be hosting Captain Will Sofrin who will be presenting his film entitled "Voyage of the Damned."  Captain Sofrin has experienced, survived, and made a movie about his unforgettable voyage from Newport, RI to San Diego, CA aboard the H.M.S. Rose.  This film, nicknamed "Voyage of the Damned" by those who experienced it first hand, features extreme weather, dismasting under full sail, and other life threatening conditions about the 179 ft tall ship replica.  On March 24, 2009 Captain Sofrin will be presenting a video that he has created from many hours of film shot during his treacherous voyage.  Watch a trailer of the video: http://www.ecaptain.com/node/2107

The lecture will be held at the new Confident Captain/Ocean Pros office located in the recently renovated Aquidneck Mill Building (449 Thames St. Suite 300).  Refreshments will be provided and admission is free.

Hundreds of mariners pass through the doors of Confident Captain/Ocean Pros classroom in downtown Newport each year, taking courses to obtain their USCG Captains License, STCW-95 Basic Safety Training and, Able Seaman certification. Mariners can get their USGC Captain's License and other certifications and are also able to extend their training from the basic RYA Start Yachting course through the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certification at Confident Captain/Ocean Pros.
