NSRP Approves Ship Production Projects

On 12 November 2008, the Executive Control Board of the National Shipbuilding Research Program Advanced Shipbuilding Enterprise announced the selection of 9 new Ship Production Panel projects, totaling approximately $777,000, specifically designed to reduce the costs associated with Navy shipbuilding and ship repair.

Additionally, new information is available on the NSRP Website:
•    Written guide designed to aid private shipyards in the adoption of a Navy requested single-coat, rapid-cure paint system that reduces the expense and time required to paint the interior of shipboard tanks.
•    Capability that allows suppliers to access a system to print standard packing lists that meet all shipyard requirements.
•    Training presentation that includes a reliable, exportable implementation processes used in planning and production engineering methodologies that enables shipyards to reduce project costs and cycle time through project standardization.
•    Upcoming events and panel meetings for Winter/Spring 2009
