NASSCO Announces Promotions

National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) announced a number of senior management promotions. Janice Grace has been appointed to the new position of Senior Vice President, Operations. Grace will assume responsibility for all production, engineering, materials, master planning, and information systems activities. During her 30 years at NASSCO she has been involved in procurement, material control, production control and planning, master scheduling, information systems, program management, repair, and engineering. Grace has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from UC Irvine and has completed the UCSD Executive Program for Scientists and Engineers.

Jay Carson has been appointed Vice President of Engineering. Carson has over 20 years of experience in the marine industry as a naval architect, marine engineer, and consultant. He has nine years of service at NASSCO, currently as Manager of Initial Design, Naval Architecture, and Systems Engineering. He has an undergraduate degree in naval architecture from the Webb Institute and an MBA from Boston University.

Steve Clarey has been appointed Director of Marketing, Business Development and Public Relations. Clarey has 10 years of business development experience at NASSCO after retiring from the U.S. Navy as a Rear Admiral. He is a graduate of Williams College and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. Clarey will assume the marketing and public relations responsibilities of Jim Scott, Vice President of Marketing and Business Affairs, who has announced his retirement after almost 27 years of service at NASSCO in various senior management positions.
