A crane barge serves as an anchor for boom, which was set up in an effort to prevent oil from making its way to Perdido Beach, Ala., June 13, 2010. Additionally, Coast Guard crews regularly conduct aerial and water surveillance in partnership with local, state and federal organizations to monitor the flow of oil.
