Ravenscroft Will Install ABS-NS SafeNet Fleet

February 19, 2002

Ravenscroft Shipping Inc., has contracted with ABS Nautical Systems for its advanced ABS-NS SafeNet fleet management software. To be installed both ashore and aboard, the SafeNet fleet management system offers a completely integrated method of tracking and controlling key operational requirements and expenditures. Ravenscroft Shipping has contracted for the Crew Management & Payroll, Maintenance & Repair, Purchasing & Inventory and Financial Reporting modules of ABS-NS SafeNet. "This suite of modules address most of the key operational elements of the management of a fleet," said Michael Johnson, ABS Nautical Systems Director, Operations. "One of the significant advantages of the ABS-NS SafeNet system is that all the information in the integrated database can be quickly, simply and cheaply replicated between the office and every ship in the fleet so that all users have access to the same, constantly up-dated information." Ravenscroft Shipping is certified to both ISM and ISO 9002 management system standards. "A ship manager can select those modules that best meet its existing needs while retaining the flexibility to add to the system in the future without requiring any re-keying of essential data," said Johnson. "This applies equally to the addition of vessels, offices or other ABS-NS SafeNet modules."
