January 30, 2015

German navigation system manufacturer Raytheon Anschütz has established its new subsidiary Raytheon Anschuetz Panama, S. de R.L., in Panama City.
The new company, to open on February 1, 2015, will be positioned as the regional customer support and service coordination center, including service training capabilities and a large spare parts depot for Panama, Middle and South America and the Caribbean. The facility of Raytheon Anschuetz Panama is located close to the Panama Canal and in decent proximity to the airport, enabling fast access to perform maintenance or repair tasks for ships passing the Panama Canal as well as in the whole region.

From the first day, Raytheon Anschuetz Panama will operate with 20 employees, half of them service technicians. This jump start has been made possible by acquiring the activities of High Sea Support (HSS) Panama, Raytheon Anschuetz said. Since its establishment in 2000 as a subsidiary of the Danish company Hans Buch A/S, HSS has been providing sales and service in Panama not only for Raytheon Anschütz equipment, but also for other navigation and communication companies. Raytheon Anschuetz Panama will continue providing sales and service for most of these companies.
Raytheon Anschuetz Panama will be led by Kim Topp, who gained more than 15 years of experience as the General Manager of HSS in Panama. Jan Lütt, Director for the Commercial Business at Raytheon Anschütz stated, “Raytheon Anschütz acknowledges that worldwide reliable and immediate customer service and support is the top priority for ship owners in these times of tough and volatile market conditions. With that in mind, HSS is a perfect match for us. We are therefore pleased that Hans Buch has accepted our offer. We will look forward to continuing the close cooperation we’ve had with Hans Buch as our longstanding sales and service partner in Denmark”.
The facility of Raytheon Anschuetz Panama contains a workshop and a warehouse with spare parts for the brands being served.
In addition to service oriented tasks, the new company has access to a range of products and experience to provide a broad group of customers with tailored solutions for navigation and communication systems in newbuilding or retrofit programs.
