MedAire Receives Coast Guard Approval for STCW Training Sites

September 25, 2003

The U.S. Coast Guard has approved MedAire, Inc. to teach STCW-compliant medical training courses at two new locations in the Ft. Lauderdale area. The courses, which provide students with emergency first aid and medical training, can now be scheduled at the American Yacht Institute and the McVey House – a U.S. Coast Guard auxiliary building. STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) is a set of standards and requirements set forth by the International Maritime Organization and adopted by many maritime nations. In order to receive STCW certification, MedAire had to obtain U.S. Coast Guard approval on the courses' curriculum, instructors and locations.
