November 15, 2005
Volvo Penta has received an order from Consafe Offshore for the delivery of diesel powered gensets to the Safe Bristolia accommodation platform.
The gensets were ordered by Swedish Consafe Offshore, which for the first time will be installing so called high-speed (>1500 rpm) gensets equipped with Volvo Penta engines.
The order comprises four complete gensets, of which three are powered by Volvo Penta’s 65-liter D65 engine and one by a 49-liter D49 model. The total power output is 6 Mwe.
The gensets will be delivered in December to the Yantai Raffles Shipyard in China where the Safe Bristolia is currently being rebuilt.
After the rebuild, the Safe Bristolia will be stationed in the Sakhalin II oilfield in Russia.
