New Recruitment Company for Oil Offshore Personnel

January 8, 2013

The new recruitment company, RQM365 AS, has its base in Ulsteinvik, Norway.

The company will conduct recruitment, qualification and manning for the oil industry, especially targeting platforms.

Many significant discoveries and high activity on the Norwegian continental shelf represents a major challenge in the coming years in finding and qualifying enough people to do the job.

Today there are about 7,500 employees on the 31 rigs operating in Norway. In 2015 we expect that number to exceed 50. This will give an increase of 4,500 people in a market with already a huge need for rig workers.

RQM365 AS aims to recruit a substantial volume of manpower as well as training them for specific jobs and operators. There is considerable concern that wages can get out of control because of the competition in the sector is so intense.

Authorities are also concerned that the high level of activity may affect safety in the petroleum activities.

“To maintain security, it is quite crucial to provide the industry with sufficient capacity and expertise. RQM365 AS will be heavily involved in supplementing qualified work force for the industry in the years to come,” says Ole Petter Fjoertoft, one of the people behind the company, with many years of industry experience.

With an extensive network of contacts in a number of countries, the company is specifically directed towards EU countries with high unemployment. The newcomer is in the process of writing agreements with several operators on the Norwegian continental shelf for training at various loca-tions in Norway and at its own training centre in Ulsteinvik.
