Kramer Appoints New German Deputy Registrar

November 3, 2003

The Maritime Authority of Jamaica (MAJ), the administrators of the Jamaica Ship Registry (JSR), has appointed Alfred Kramer as Deputy Registrar for Germany. More recently, as a consultant to the shipping and forwarding business, Kramer was also managing director of a specialist German company providing private individuals with opportunities to make investments in ships. The Director General MAJ, Rear Admiral Peter Brady, commenting on Kramer' s appointment, said: "German ship owners are of great interest to the MAJ as potential clients. The JSR is a quality register accepting only quality ships to fly the Jamaican flag. We believe that Mr Kramer's appointment will help us to demonstrate to German owners that we share their belief in high quality of service from the flag state to which they entrust their ships." Kramer joins similar JSR Deputy Registrars in Rotterdam, Cyprus, Greece, Monaco and London. Alec Crawford, the JSR's London-based International Marketing Director added: " Kramer's appointment enables us to promote the JSR's message to a very large and, as yet for us, untapped market. He will fill an important role in ensuring that we can provide owners in Europe with updated information about the registry of ships under the Jamaican flag, as well as facilitating a smooth registration procedure."
