MOL Container Ships Remarkably Punctual on Some Routes

January 31, 2014

Container ship operators MOL has updated its KPI 'On Time Arrival Performance' quarterly results for October - December 2013 for the major trade lanes.

MOL East-West Trades On Time Arrival Performance
In Q4 2013, MOL vessels maintained 100% on-time performance in Asia-USWC. The overall performance decreased to 83%, compared to 88% in Q3 2013 due to port congestion at Pusan and Shanghai.

Asia-USEC services’ performance was slightly worsened to 62% in Q4 2013 due to port congestion at Pusan, Shanghai and Colombo, while MOL vessels significantly improved their on-time performance from 65% in Q3 to 92% in Q4 2013 due to less impact.

The adverse weather condition at USEC ports and in the Atlantic Ocean impacted the on-time performance of MOL’s operating vessels in Trans-Atlantic services.

Asia-Europe schedule integrity was affected by port congestion in Europe while Mediterranean services significantly improved, noting that MOL vessels achieved 100% on time in Q4 2013.

MOL North-South Trades On Time Arrival Performance

CSW improved low on-time performance from Q3 2013. However, MOL say they were unable to achieve 100% on time due to dense fog at Shanghai as well as congestion at ECSA ports in December 2013.

CWL performance deteriorated due to port closures also caused by dense fog at Shanghai, and congestion at Asian and Mexican ports, in addition to adverse weather in the Pacific Ocean.
