INTERTANKO has announced the following personnel changes affecting its Asian Representative Office and Latin American Panel. The Association’s Asian office, located in Singapore, was set up in 1999 and has been managed to date by Ms Minerva Alfonso. Ms Alfonso will be relinquishing her post as Asian Regional Manger in August to commence maternity leave. John Fawcett-Ellis has been appointed as the new Regional Manager for Asia–Pacific, taking over responsibility for INTERTANKO members in the region. Fawcett-Ellis will continue to act as the Association’s Legal Counsel with specific responsibility for chartering and documentary matters. In his new position he will also act as secretary to INTERTANKO’s Asian Panel. Fawcett-Ellis, an English solicitor by profession, has been with the Association since 1997. Upon completion of her leave Alfonso will return to a senior position in the European offices of INTERTANKO. Concurrently with the above, Anders Baardvik has been appointed Regional Manager for Latin America and will act as secretary of the Association’s Latin American Panel, in succession to John Fawcett-Ellis. Baardvik has been with INTERTANKO since 1996 and also retains the position as Executive Officer at the Association’s London office.
