Peter Wright Retires from Millers

June 6, 2003

Peter Wright, who has headed Thomas Miller's operations in Greece since 1997, has retired after 40 years' service with the organization. For the past six years, he has presided over the expansion of Miller's Piraeus office and the extension of services to local members of the UK P&I and U.K. Defense clubs. Wright joined Miller's in 1963 after graduating from Cambridge University and was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) the following year. He worked on P&I and defence claims and was elected to the T.R Miller & Son partnership in 1970. Wright ran the U.K. Defense Club management in the early 1980s. In 1990, he joined the management team providing war risks services, where his skills and experience were utilized in dealing with the aftermath of the invasion of Kuwait and the Gulf War in 1991. In 1996, he moved to Greece to lead the expansion of the UK Club's Piraeus office. Two years later, the office became a claims handling syndicate (Area Group H1) and took over the role of the Club's correspondent. The office relocated in 2000 to accommodate expanding activity.
