FARO Debuts New X Series Laser Scanner
FARO Technologies, Inc., a 3D measurement, imaging and realization technology company, announced the release of the new FARO Laser Scanner Focus3D X 130.
According to the manufacturer, the Focus3D X 130, the newest member of Focus3D X Series range of laser scanners, delivers tremendous power, compact design and the flexibility to perform laser scanning in both indoor and outdoor environments. With a scanning range of 130 meters, this laser scanner is suited for mid-range scanning applications such as architecture, construction, civil engineering, facility management, forensics, historical preservation, industrial manufacturing and shipbuilding applications, FARO said.
The portable Focus3D X 130 enables fast, straightforward and accurate measurements of objects and buildings, combining high-precision scanning technology with true mobility and ease-of-use to offer reliability, flexibility and real-time views of recorded data. With its integrated GPS receiver, the laser scanner is able to correlate individual scans in post-processing. These advances in performance do not come at the expense of safety as the Focus3D X 130 comes with a class 1 “eye safe” laser.
“The touch-screen of the Focus3D X 130 is as easy to operate as a smart phone,” said Ralf Drews, Managing Director of FARO Europe. “With a battery runtime of 4.5 hours, the laser scanner also has a high level of flexibility and endurance. With the introduction of Focus3D X 130, FARO offers its customers a choice between mid-range Focus3D X 130 (130 meters) and long-range Focus3D X 330 (330 meters) laser scanners.
